With the buttery-smooth ride qualities of chromoly steel, the Coda is your ticket to all-terrain adventure. Road vibrations are damped to a greater extent versus aluminum thanks to the intrinsic properties of the Reynolds steel frame, making it more fun to take the path less traveled knowing you have extra comfort beneath you. A wide-ranging gear set helps you climb hills and maintain speed on flat ground, while powerful linear-pull brakes offer confident control in all but the worst conditions. Smooth-rolling 700 x 32c tires mated to lightweight alloy wheels offer the perfect combination of speed and capability, too. And with the easily-adjusted stem height you'll have no trouble dialing-in a perfect fit to keep you pedaling happily through the years.

Comments:

I've had a Jamis Coda as my primary bike for 10 years now. I'm very happy with it, I ride it frequently along the bike paths by the lake and to and from work. I've never had any major problems with it. The only thing I don't like about it is that the seat isn't the most comfortable, but seats are easily replaced. Highly recommended.

Comments:

I had (somewhat embarrassingly) been riding the same bike since freshman year of high school - an undersized "mountain" bike that at one time brought envy from my friends. This bike is my first venture into buying a more suitable bike for commuting to work and for exercise, and it has turned out to be a wonderful investment. I hadn't ever heard of the "Jamis" brand, but they came highly recommended by a salesperson at the bike shop, both for quality and for customer service. After a test-ride I was completely sold. The ride was smooth and solid, all the components worked great, and the overall feel was just right on. I tested 2 other bikes that day, one more expensive and one less expensive, and neither of them came close. I've been riding 7 miles to work nearly every day since, on bike paths and New York city streets, and continue to be impressed! Thanks to Jamis for making such a great bike, and for getting me more interested in cycling.

    Comments:

I love this bike; it's the one I always recommend to friends and family that ask me for the name of a good all-around city bike. It has many imitators these days but Jamis was the first to make hybrids that are actually fun to ride. Any of the sub-models are good but the base model should work for anyone.
