Specialized Propero II

A great fit, low weight, and plenty of vents make Specialized's Propero II helmet ready for all types of riding. Its internal reinforcements provide excellent durability and lower weight, while Specialized's 4th Dimension cooling system keeps you dry and comfortable. Specialized's Headset SL retention system and easily adjusted Tri-Fix straps make it easy to dial in your perfect fit.

Life Saver

About Me

Comments:

I was in a major cycling accident a little over 4 months ago and this helmet saved my life. I was riding with a group in northern Indiana when I hit a pothole at about 25 mph and went over my handle bars; breaking my collarbone and several other bones. After months of physical rehab I am about to start riding again and I've been thinking about purchasing a different helmet mainly based on price. After long consideration I can't see myself wearing another helmet. I will always and only wear and recommend the Propero II helmet.

About Me

Comments:

I wanted a helmet that was well ventilated and light weight. The Prevail is prefect unti, but too rich for my blood. That's were the ProPero II comes in. This helmet in comparing to the prevail is basically the same style, just a little heavier. The shape, venting are darn near the exact same, the main difference is "Headset" adjusting system is bulkier and no exotic material(Kevlar) usage. But who here is pro and gets helmets for free? Not I. As I continue to ride and have to replace helmets, the ProPero II is the one I will be going to.

Unreal

About Me

Comments:

I purchased the Specialized Propero II helmet from my local shop around 8 months ago, and I have truly had a chance to put it to the test. It is surprisingly light in comparison with Bell's equal level helmet. This helmet gives you better features for a similar price range. The scooped front air holes suck in air into the helmet, and over your head, and vent it at the rear, providing a cool head, on those long summer training rides or races. The Headset adjustment system works very well, as I was skeptical of it's integrity at first, but I was proven wrong after the first ride. At times, I forget I even have a helmet on, it's so comfortable and cool. I would strongly recommend this helmet to any entry level racer or endurance rider. Definitely the best bang for your buck. Cheers all.

A bit pricey but an excellent helmet.

About Me

Comments:

This helmet is not much heavier than air. It fits perfectly and I usually forget I'm wearing it. I do think it costs a bit more than it should but it's definitely high quality.

Good product, good price

About Me

Comments:

This helmet has awesome ventilation and I completely forget about it once I put it on, not matter how long the ride may be. This helmet is a nice alternative to the more expensive Prevail and I honestly don's see a reason to pay more, other than that you can say you have a "nicer" helmet.

Disappointed with the quality

About Me

Comments:

I bought this helmet two days ago. First impression: cheap plastic smell and mediocre quality. I'm not a professional cyclist, but besides ventilation and aerodynamics I need a good quality product.

Great Value

About Me

Comments:

I was back and forth between this helmet and the Prevail, I went with this helmet because it has almost all of the same fetures and styling for $130 less!!!! Of course it weights a little more but I actually like the straps a lot better. The Prevail straps are mounted on the outside of the helmet away from your face which makes it awkward to wear sunglasses if you like to run them on the outside of the straps. Both helmets create a little mushroom headed appearance, and are the same size. I think the Propero II is a killer buy and probably the best helmet out by Specialized at the moment. You get the S-Works features and same styling (even down to the recessed lower sides to minimize width) without the high price tag.
